MEET SHANI

Shani’s Living Creations is the leafy lovechild of Shani Hatcher — a San Francisco Bay Area native, devoted mom, and proud plant enthusiast on a mission to turn every home into a living sanctuary.

Raised in the East Bay, Shani wears many hats: finance professional, mother of two thriving kids (a college student at Cal State Northridge and a high schooler at Hayward High), and unofficial CEO of over 100 houseplants. Since earning her degree from Duke University in 2001, she’s built a career in financial services — but her true passion took root in 2020 when a single plant sparked what would become a full-blown botanical obsession.

What started as a pandemic hobby quickly blossomed into a lifestyle. Shani fell head over heels for the art of plant styling, the meditative rhythm of plant care, and the soulful joy of watching things grow — not just plants, but people too. With a love for kokedamas and air plants, she curates each living piece as both a design statement and a wellness companion.

Through Shani’s Living Creations, she shares her plant passion with other nurturing spirits — whether you're a seasoned plant mama or just getting your green thumb dirty. Expect plant therapy, plant humor, and plant magic. Always rooted in joy.
